How to use the Voice Transcriber

Click Start Recording and speak into your microphone. Your words appear as text in real-time inside the textarea. Use Copy Transcript to grab the text or Download .TXT File to save it locally.

Why use a browser voice transcriber?

It is the quickest way to turn speech into editable text for meeting notes, lectures, subtitles or a first draft. The browser does the recognition, so nothing is recorded or uploaded and you can use it for confidential conversations — with no minute limit and no subscription.

Step by step: dictate and clean up

1. Choose your language and dialect from the list.
2. Click the microphone button and allow microphone access when the browser asks.
3. Speak clearly and pause naturally; the text appears as you talk.
4. Pause to stop, then copy the transcript or download it as a text file.
5. Proofread names, numbers and jargon, which speech engines mishear most often.

Getting an accurate transcript

• Keep the tab in the foreground — browsers pause speech recognition when you switch away.
• Use a headset or external microphone; built-in laptop mics pick up keyboard and room noise.
• Speak in complete sentences and say punctuation out loud, for example "comma" or "full stop".
• Transcribe long sessions in chunks so a single mistake is quick to find and fix.

Is it private and secure?

Yes. The transcription is performed entirely in your browser using the Web Speech Recognition API. No audio is ever uploaded, tracked or stored on any server.
